"Tears of Joy" by Patrick
When I bury my canines into the onion,
taste buds go wild,
like children fighting over a piece of candy,
pushing their way through,
colliding with their surroundings.
The fingers that picked this onion
knew this pungent smell would create tears
knew its juices would create tears of joy.
As I think about its taste,
my mouth is drenched with saliva.
The fingers that grew this onion
knew it would accent my meals
fill my mouth with horrible, horrid breath,
Yet, a wonderful snack I will eat for a lifetime.
