The Carving Consortium is making a sheet of rubber stamps with the theme of "MailArt". I decided to try a couple of things and see if any of them would be acceptable. This was my second attempt. "ATC" is an abreviation for "Artist Trading Cards" which is the format of 2.5" x 3.5" signed art on card stock that can be traded with other artists. The two animal symbols are characters from the Truetype font called "Animals 1". The "ATC" is in the Truetype font "Ariel" and the "INSIDE" is a font called "Modern". The flower and the sun were freehand additions. The black rectangle is in the same proportions as an ATC.

As a technical note, I had read about using an embossing stylus to indent the tiny centers of letters instead of carving them out. I tried this on the "S" in the word "INSIDE". Although the result is acceptable and the process quick, there's a lack of "control" that I'm not sure I like. I'll keep trying it, though. The texture on the bird's wing tips was made by punctures to various depths with a large straight pin.
