This was the main image for a 2003 Father's Day card that I made. I had a digital picture of my father from a Christmas holiday gathering and did some extensive digital manipulations of it. The result was then printed and transfered to the safety-kut. This was my most involved endeavor to date, probably taking about 3 hours to cut.

I do love the 'implied' image qualities of pure black and white. In this image, most of the actual detail of the face is not there, but the brain of the viewer fills it all in to make a complete face (well, OK, the brains of MOST viewers... grin)!

I carved this with a combination of gouges and a hobby knife.
