Hiker
Actual dimensions(WxH in inches): 3.4 x 2.5 - Material: Nasco Safety-Kut - Aug2003
I created this for the "Glimpse of You" swap (Carving Consortium, Aug2003, Kerrin Conrad host). It was designed to symbolize the part of the associated text "... like the laying-near-a-babbling-mountain-creek-in-the-dappled-shade-of-a-perfect-summer's-afternoon kind of joy." The image was adapted from a book on hiking. I may end up putting the whole art piece on the ART page of this site.
I carved this with a combination of gouges and a hobby knife. The gouges cannot handle the find detail, especially tiny, complex curves. However, a gouge does beards very well.
