Rhane's Faery

This image is taken (with permission) from a scan of a pencil drawing by an artist named Rhane. It actually turned out much closer to the original than I had figured it would. I added texture to the wings where they seemed just semi-transparent in the drawing. I used this stamp as the basis for a How-To page on using DTP (Direct-To-Paper) techniques and Masking (see Simple Background on my Info page). This carving took me a little under two hours to complete.
As usual, most of the detail here was cut with a hobby knife (#11 blade) with the smooth, longer lines being done by #2 Speedball gouge.
