Carving - Self Portrait #2

Self Portrait #2

Actual dimensions(WxH in inches): 0.9 x 3.5 - Material: Nasco Safety-Kut - Apr2003

Here's a second attempt at a self-portrait stamp. My intent is the same as the first... to cut these assuming they will be stamped using white ink on black paper stock. The image on the left is my first test print using black ink on white card stock. The image on the right is the intended "look" using white ink and printed on black posterboard.

I'm not as pleased with this as I was with Self Portrait #1. I'm not sure why, though. It is a bit more abstract and vague. Maybe if I had my head turned a little in the original photo and had an ear showing?

This white ink (Colorbox Pigment - Frost White) does do a weird "white line around the image" thing on this black cardstock (cheap poster board). I'm finding that I prefer transfering my lazer printer images by using home iron at it's lowest setting (rather than using acetone). I just make sure that the ironing board is protected from stray toner transfer or my shirts could end up with little pictures melted into them.
