Carving - Self Portrait #3
Self Portrait #3
Actual dimensions(WxH in inches): 2.2 x 3.4 - Material: Nasco Safety-Kut - Apr2003
Here's a third attempt at a self-portrait stamp. My intent here was to use this as a basis for some "Random Thoughts" series ATC's where I'd put misc images into the head area. These images would reflect things that I think about or are important to me. Either the white on black or black on white would work for this. The image on the right is on posterboard (still using the crummy Colorbox Pigment - Frost White) and the other is on 20lb writing paper.
I found out something very distressing. Acetone Disolves Safety-Kut!! I was cleaning the face area of this stamp and noticed that it was becomming rounded... the cut edges were becoming smooth. I was a little annoyed!
This white ink (Colorbox Pigment - Frost White) does do a weird "white line around the image" thing on this black cardstock (cheap poster board). Transfer was with a home iron and the cutting went well.
The image on the right looks a lot like the original back-lit photo that I worked from!
