Woods Edge
Actual dimensions(WxH in inches): 2.2 x 3.2 - Material: Nasco Safety-Kut - Aug2003
Well over 25 years ago I purchased a set of Speedball Linoleum Cutters (assortment #2). On the front of the the box was an example carving of a landscape. I scanned it, rearranged things... moving trees and sky tends to impart a slightly eerie, god-like sensation..., cropped it, carved it and produced this image. It's my first serious endeavor into an area of both trepidation and intense attraction: the "wood block" style. I'd like to become more comfortable (and skilled) with the artistic techniques of adding texture to a block cut.
As with much of my work, this was intended and therefore sized to be produced on and ATC (Artist Trading Card). The carving was done mostly with a gouge (Speedball, of course) except where tight corners necessitated the use of a knife.
