The Naked Eraser: A Celebration of the Human Form using Soft-Block Printmaking
The subject is naked. The print is naked... simple black on stark white. There is only line and space, light and shadow, with form both real and imagined. All other presentation "clothing" is removed... color and texture, filler and tone. Each is a single block impression, unadored, with nothing between it and the viewer.
The images presented here are stored as "pure" black-and-white GIF files. This format makes the images much more "rough-looking" than they actually are. I did this for two main reasons: (1) to make the contrast as stark as possible in order to present the carving as clearly as possible (as opposed to the printing), and (2) to make the image quality good enough to be able to appreciate the artists effort, but not good enough that you'd print out the image instead of contacting the artist for an original copy if it really moves you [gentle smile].
There is no particular organization to the images, and I may reorganize them from time to time. The dividing of the index into "sheets" is meerly a matter of convenience. However, the most recently-added images will tend to be nearer the top of the page... or not [grin].
